About Martin Daunton

Martin Daunton is Emeritus Professor of Economic History at the University of Cambridge, where he was Master of Trinity Hall and on two occasions the head of the School of the Humanities and Social Sciences. He has been the president of the Royal Historical Society, a Commissioner of Historic England, a trustee of the National Maritime Museum, and the chair of the Leverhulme Trust Research Awards Committee. He has held visiting professorships in Japan and Australia and is a visiting professor at Gresham College.
