CreativeCalling-web.jpg“Life isn’t about finding fulfillment and success—it’s about creating it,” says Chase Jarvis, the renowned photographer and founder of CreativeLive, the world’s largest online learning platform for creators and entrepreneurs. We are all born creative, yet modern culture tamps down the very creativity that is necessary for a richer, deeper, and more rewarding life. Choices about career path and lifestyle are all-too-often made based on misguided societal norms rather than our own creativity-fueled dreams.

The good news? Creativity isn't a skill—it's a habit available to everyone: beginners and lifelong creators, entrepreneurs to executives, astronauts to zookeepers, and everyone in between. In his inspiring and practical new book, Creative Calling: Establish a Daily Practice, Infuse Your World with Meaning, and Succeed in Work + Life (HarperBusiness; September 24, 2019; $28.99), Jarvis contends that creativity is as essential to health and happiness as exercise and proper nutrition, and he shows how—through small, daily actions—you can supercharge your innate creativity and rediscover your personal power in life.

Whether your ambition is a creative career, completing a creative project, or simply cultivating a creative mindset, Jarvis’s memorable “IDEA” framework will help you unlock your potential:

  • Imagine your big dream, whatever you want to create—or become—in this world.
  • Design a daily practice that supports that dream—and a life of expression and transformation.
  • Execute on your ambitious plans and make your vision real.
  • Amplify your impact through a supportive community you’ll learn to grow and nurture.
