About the event:
With more and more traditional media outlets losing readership to blogs, many PR professionals have shifted their focus to catching the digital eye of bloggers. For an industry that prides itself on being able to roll with the punches and change our tactics to best meet client objectives, the horror stories of bloggers done wrong warrants a look into how PR pros can work better to build relationship with these important members of the new media generation.

Award winning blogger Heather Blessington started her personal blog http://mamaVISION.com and YouTube channel in 2006. Within a year, the blog was receiving over 100K visitors per month, with1000+ loyal subscribers to her video blog. In 2009, she founded a collective blog http://WeAreTheRealDeal.com, voted "Best Body Image Blog for Women" in 2011. Both blogs have received national press including CNN, BBC, USA Today, Forbes, BlogHer, Jaime Oliver's Food Revolution, The Onion, and more.
Nick Chipman:
Nick Chipman writes the popular blog DudeFoods.com, which provides a tongue-in-cheek look at the world of overabundance when it comes to food. As the winner of "Best New Blog" in the Shepherd Express "Best of Milwaukee Web" awards in 2011 DudeFoods has flourished in the eleven months since it launched and is currently read by over 30,000 people a month. Through his interaction with various public relations professionals Nick will provide you with an interesting perspective on blogger relations and talk about why you don't necessarily need to get your product featured on the biggest blogs to get the best results.

Mary Louise Schumacher:
Mary Louise Schumacher is the art and architecture critic for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Her blog, Art City, has won national awards for commentary, blogging and multimedia innovation. The blog is a space of lively dialogue about culture and the built environment. Schumacher has cultivated a core group of contributors, writers who bring a diversity of viewpoints to the coverage of culture in Milwaukee. The dialogue spills over onto Schumacher's Facebook page and Twitter account, too, tools she routinely uses to improve her reporting. Schumacher is a native of California and lived on the East Coast for a decade before settling in Milwaukee.
