Veteran's Day seems to come and go so fast. It seems like such a huge event that should last for weeks and months so we can take time to remember and hold reverence to everyone that has fought for this country. One way of keeping this holiday alive is through the pages of history books.

It seems like such a huge event that should last for weeks and months so we can take time to remember and hold reverence to everyone that has fought for this country. One way of keeping this holiday alive is through the pages of history books. One such glorious book is On Hallowed Ground: The Story of Arlington National Cemetery by Robert M. Poole, that was published last month. This national treasury of memories hold hundreds upon hundreds of veterans dating back to our very first wars. I went there 2 times in my life and both times had the overwhelming feeling of pride in our country. How we have survived and continue to survive due to the steadfast and courageous men and women that have given their lives for America. Now, you can keep these memories alive in this book - USA Today just gave a brief account of this book today and I felt compelled to mention it on here - not just in respect for our veterans but as a keepsake for our blog to remind us sometimes it's not and shouldn't be business as usual. Take a moment today to remember those we have lost and are now laid to rest at "the saddest acre in America".
