Author's Choice and Reader's Choice voting begins today

Part II of the 2007 Business Book Awards is now underway as voting for the Author's Choice and Reader's Choice begin today. Any author with a title published in 2007 as well as all readers are eligible to cast a vote for what they feel is the best book of the year. Voting will last until November 30 and can be done at: Author's Choice and Reader's Choice Vote The 8cr staff is currently busy reading entries as nearly 300 books were entered for the awards this year.

I first want to officially declare my love for Monocle Magazine. It is a wonderful magazine out of the UK that covers "Affairs, Business, Culture, Design, and Edits (ie stuff). " The design is brilliant with great and plentiful photography, the right mix of short and long content, and a global perspective which is all but missing from stateside media.

Publisher's Weekly Best of Everything (But Business Books) 2007

Publisher's Weekly released this morning their Best of 2007 list. They pulled 150 titles from the 6,000 they reviewed this year and declared the worthiest reads. There is not a single business book on the list, so it's best to enjoy the compilation as a book lover or as a gift guide this holiday season.
