Yesterday, you got a brief look into Rebecca Schlei Hartman's immense brain. Today, we will glimpse the bizarre workings of her husband's. Robbie Hartman is the author of one of my favorite lines in recent years: Though I fully support guns, children, the flag and American entrepreneurship, I do not condone guns that shoot flags at children for money.

The Future of Reading
By Porchlight
I was browsing NPR today and noticed a little article about e-books and Lynn Neary's take on what is happening and perhaps what will happen in the future to not only how we read books and get information - but also how it's written and distributed to the masses. It start off in a quirky way - about how we unsuspecting readers whouldn't have guessed that at the beginning of the decade we would have such a thing like an electronic book and that we would be reading them on our cell phones. Kind of puts things into perspective.

She is one of those people that teaches you something about yourself every time you meet her and, lucky for us, she does so for organizations as well.

I was inspired by NPR's Mile HIgh Book Club listing today and thought to myself, "Hey! Lots of people will be grabbing a plane to visit family and friends this weekend - what would business minded people want to read during their travels? " Well, why not pick from the Top 10 business books that we've sold overseas and across borders in 2009?

In the Books - Off to the Printers
By Porchlight
We've been working very hard on producing In the Books, our annual review of business books, for many months now. Like the year itself, it wasn't an easy project, but it is always a labor of love and one we're extremely proud of. We've mentioned many times over the year that the downturn in the economy has hit us as it did everyone else out there, and along with focusing on the many books that address—and offer solutions to—the challenges we all face, it is something we go into a bit more personally in this year's annual.
